Embodied Storytelling: Marshallese Biit

In this session, members of the Marshallese Heritage Language Board engage their audience in a structured language learning experience through the Marshallese cultural practice of embodied storytelling called “biit.” Embodied storytelling, or storytelling through dance and movement, has a long history in the Pacific. Participants in this session are expected to engage fully in the language learning experience, learning language, story, and cultural values through one of the most iconic tales of the riMajel.
