About me
Doresty Daniel is the Community Wellness Program Manager for the Pacific Islander Community Association of Washington (PICAWA) here in Spokane. She is a former Bilingual Specialist and Language Specialist for Spokane Public Schools and a founding member of the Marshallese Heritage Language Advisory Board. Growing up in the outer atoll of Mili and living for many years in both Majuro and Hawaii, she has deep knowledge of Marshallese manit as well as a strong understanding of the varied communities from which our Marshallese students and families arrive in Spokane. She also serves as a guest professor in the Gonzaga University ELD endorsement program, providing structured language learning experiences in Marshallese for preservice teachers.
