About me
Dr. Melissa Tobey LaBelle is a former world language teacher—also trained to instruct English, ESL, and reading—who now focuses on training teachers. A native of Massachusetts, she is new to the Pacific Northwest and excited to meet fellow educators and collaborate with them to promote equity and culturally and linguistically responsive teaching. LaBelle instructs and mentors pre/in-service teachers as a professor at Bridgewater State University (BSU) and is eager to engage with colleagues to support the learning of multilingual students.
